What a wonderful day we had at the WAC, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Ajax Scout Group! It was a joy to see so many past and current scouts joining in the festivities, sharing memories and stories, and having fun.
We were honored to have the mayor come down and speak to us, congratulating the group on its longevity and impact on the community. He praised the scouts for their values, skills, and service, and encouraged them to keep up the good work.
The festivities included a spectacular pageant on the river outside the WAC, with young people afloat on boats, kayaks, and rafts to celebrate the day. It was a sight to behold, and a fitting tribute to the spirit of scouting.
Another highlight of the day was the exhibition of the history of the group, which showcased the achievements, adventures, and challenges of the scouts over the decades. There were photos and memorabilia on display.
The success of the day was made possible, thanks to the organizers, volunteers and supporters. And of course, a big thank you to all the scouts who came and participated. You are the reason why this group is so special and successful. Here’s to another 75 years of scouting!
