Ajax Scouts sail Picos, Visions, Wayfarers and the gig. We are fortunate to have qualified dinghy instructors with access to both the River Thames and Island Barn Sailing Club. Scouts and Explorers are encouraged to expand their skills, knowledge, and training through the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Recognised Training Scheme, which they find enjoyable and rewarding.
Sea sailing is also part of our enjoyable weekend camps at Cobnor Water Activity Centre, and some Explorers take part in the Rona Sailing Project, gaining experience in teamwork, responsibility, and resourcefulness, which will help them throughout their lives.
